To keep us up to date with the latest developments in Drainage, Flood Risk and SUDs (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems), we have taken the opportunity to embrace the newly available wider online training options and have enrolled staff from across our regions to undertake H R Wallingford’s 8 week SUDS programme – utilising online course material combined with set exercises.

Despite the challenges of COVID19 and social distancing, the development of our staff remains a key business priority. We invest in our teams to ensure we are continually in touch with the latest knowledge, best practice and technology to sustain and grow our capabilities. Investing in training not only helps grow skills, it also helps refresh and reinforce existing capability. We understand the successful implementation of a SUDs scheme can be the difference maker between success and failure – therefore to ensure we continue to provide the most effective advice we continually invest in both our staff and infrastructure.

A key outcome from this course is that our teams wider teams are refreshed on the planning, design, construction and maintenance of SUDS – reinforcing our advice from initial feasibility through to detailed design. Bench-marking the latest practice on current guidelines, standards, run-off calculations (greenfield and brownfield), water quality management, construction, maintenance and adoption of SUDS.

We look forward to seeing the knowledge share briefings in September!
