Mersey Care Trust gain consent for a new mental health facility
We are pleased to announce that NHS Mersey Care Trust have been given permission to build a new mental health facility at the existing Boothroyd Mental Health Unit, off Scarisbrick New Road, Southport.
SCP worked with the Trust and their architect Gilling Dod providing masterplanning advice and a Transport Statement and Travel Plan in support of the application.
Mersey Care and Liverpool Sefton Health Partnership’s proposal will combine local mental health inpatient care and community services on one site. The facility will provide 44 single en-suite bedrooms and replace Mersey Care’s existing Hesketh Centre, which is to close.
The new facility is expected to open by the end of 2019.
